Photographer Joseph Conti

Photographer Joseph Conti has joined DiscoverOriginalArt. Below Joseph describes his techniques.

The thing had some heft to it when held in the hand. Every knob or latch, when manipulated had that crisp, mechanical feel and sound and it produced an image just as precise. But that was roughly 30 years ago. It was a Minolta 35mm SLR. It was a prized possession and an outlet for my creative instincts. I had barely mastered the basics of film photography when the digital age arrived. Uncharted waters, but not for long. What an opportunity, once realized. A boon to anyone with an urge to experiment and a budget that didn’t include endless rolls of film, developing or a darkroom. In the end the basics remained the same. Your eye and your hand control the outcome. But for this particular group a precision of image is of no matter. A precision of moment is key.

The technique I have used to produce most these images has been the result of two years work. The word “work” should be interpreted loosely. This has been much fun. But it is a process and it continues to evolve. What it has yielded, is what some have described as digital photos that look more like paintings. A form of “kinetic photography”, if you will. The evolution of this idea led me to choose either a photo rag or German etching style paper on which to produce the “kinetic style” images. While the computer images of these are impressive, the transfer to this type of paper enhances them even further. It is a good marriage.

I hope you find them evocative of a time, place or moment which strikes a cord with you.
Thomas Keller, Artist

      Thomas Keller Angel of Egypt

Artist Thomas Keller began creating art as the result of an spiritual awakening in 2001. Prior to that time he was a construction contractor and has continued to be so. When he began painting he felt like a river of creativity was flooding through him and had to be released.

Thomas Keller's paintings are mostly pastels, a medium he was drawn to naturally. Thousands of crystals of pure color comprise pastels so a painting is a crystal field reflecting light.

He then was drawn to free sculpt wood and since moving to Atlanta, Ga., a city craved out of an ancient forest, He again felt compelled to release this river of creativity. Wood is a very feminine medium with it's continuous grain curves and inherent strength.

Thomas has wonderful sculptures that are graceful at Discover Original Art.
Beata Belansky Demko, New Artist

In Dreamland

Beata Belansky Demko has joined Discover Original Art. She is a self-taught artist who resides in Hungary. We are impressed with the texture and subject matter of her paintings. They are introspective and reflective. In the last year she has spent her time painting her emotions, experiences, and feelings.

Beata says, "One thing drives me, to live the inner silence. Greater silence or peace - before taking a paintbrush - I had never experienced. So my paintings can be considered as byproducts of seeking my inner peace. I have no intention with my paintings. I don't want to make other people happy, change the world or create something beautiful and good. I just want to find myself... inside."

Check out more of Beata's work at http://discoveroriginalart.com

Go to DiscoverOriginalArt.com to view more trees by Thomas! You will fall in love with them as I have!
