Discover Original Art is partnering with the local downtown St. Petersburg office of Keller Williams to create a “wall of art.” The space is perfect for displaying artwork and we will be rotating art so our artists will be represented. As people go into the office to buy houses, condos, buildings…..we will be represented with a brochure and artwork! More information to come so watch for it!

Participated in Art Walk last weekend and had fun. And….found a great new potter! We are looking forward to adding her to our site! She is on a trip right now but when she returns, we will be working with her. Will give you her name when all is definite! The problem with meeting new artists is……I love their works and want to own them! Now that I live in a condo, I have limited space and every wall has artwork on it. Sometimes more than one piece! But what an enjoyable problem. Looking forward to adding some new art soon! Stay posted!

Coleman Hawkins was one of the greatest jazz musicians of the 1960’s. We have some fantastic photographs of Jazz greats from the 50’s and 60’s. These were taken by a well known photographer Herb Snitzer. Check the gallery and take a peek. We will be posting further detailed information about photographs.

Live with a blank, empty wall? Never! That is not for me! I have had a passion for collecting art from a very early age! When I was really young, I would cut the back cover off my parents' Reader's Digest as it usually was a copy of a work of art. My closet door was plastered with the pictures!
Eventually I tried to create my own artwork! My talent was and is nonexistent. But I met a wonderful artist by the name of Brother Paul from St. Leo's College in Florida. I bought my first original art from Brother Paul and still have a small collection of his works.
From there it was just fate! My walls are now covered with art. Whenever I move I make sure that each painting is wrapped carefully. Now I live in a condo and have limited wall space. Does that stop me? Never! I love fine art. I collect fine art. I live with fine art!
What about you? Are you a collector? Or just starting to collect? Write back. Let us know! |

Brian and I are meeting wonderful and talented artists as part of setting up DiscoverOriginalArt.com! One of our new artists, Rony Shubich, is as vibrant and vivacious as her paintings and sculpture! We had the opportunity to meet Rony, her husband, and her beautiful daughter a few days ago in the lovely home. What a treat! She has brought the flavor of her native Mexico City to her surroundings and the effect is stunning! Famous in Mexico, Rony has built her reputation in the United States and is continuing to make a name for herself! Once a professional tennis player, she now takes the focus and discipline of the professional athlete and dedicates them to her art. She has studied people and her paintings of them are complicated yet simplistic; vibrant yet with tones of the more thoughtful side of humanity. Music now plays a central theme and her paintings seem to... |

My name is Brian Wiltshire one of the two partners who created our web site (discoveroriginalart.com). We now have a number of excellent painters and photographers presenting their work to the world and have completed several sales. Why am I humbled? I, aside from being a collector and art lover also paint in oils and acrylics and am an avid photographer. I was considering placing some of my own work on this site but clearly cannot compare with the resident artists. Sadly I think I would detract from the quality of the site! I will continue to paint for fun. phm6nvdf9y |

Recently I had the privilege of interviewing one of our featured artist, Thomas "Tom" Brunger. His studio is located in an old print shop in the historic North Side in the city of Pittsburgh and is amazing! Paintings fill large spaces, hang on the walls, and are strewn across the floor. New works show the progession of time and development.
I have known Tom for over 35 years and have watched how one series of paintings leads to the next that leads to the next and on and on. Tom is inspired by life, nature, philosophy, mathematics, and politics. Intense colors express intense thoughts. Organic forms juxtapose mathematical forms. Then nature breaks through and paintings of tree branches intertwining make powerful statements.
To dine with Tom and his family is to dine with people who love to discuss every topic in life over wonderful food and good wine. Tom is interested in great conversation and the development of ideas. Often those ideas show up in his artwork.
Sculpture is Tom's love, too. You will be able to experience his works in the near future.... |
