- Who is responsible for shipping the item to the buyer?
The artist is responsible for shipping the item to the buyer. Discover Original Art, LLC, does not handle any inventory. All shipping is handled by the appropriate artist; returns are handled by the buyer.
- Where is the art shipped from?
Since each artist is responsible for shipping his/her art to the buyer, the art can be shipped from anywhere in the world, wherever the artist is located.
- As the artist/seller, how should I package the art for shipping?
It is definitely recommended that you use your best judgment when packaging art for shipment. The more protection you can provide for the artwork in shipment, the better chances that it will arrive in perfect condition. A multi-layer approach often works best for packaging, such as wrapping the item first in paper, saran wrap, or some material that can protect the art from minor abrasions and ink transfers, etc. and then putting it in a sturdy box surrounding the item with at least 3 inches of Styrofoam, either blocks or peanuts, on all sides. Also, be sure to securely tape every seam of the box. Ultimately, how you package your artwork for shipment is your choice. A packaging expert in your area, such as at UPS or Mail Boxes Etc, could give you additional tips for your specific type of art.
- Which shipping company is the art shipped through?
The shipping company (UPS, USPS, FedEx, etc) used for shipping the order is the choice of the artist/seller.
- Should I insure the artwork I am sending?
Absolutely! There are times that packages get lost in the mail, although this seldom happens. Protect yourself by insuring for the full value of the artwork. And make sure you keep the insurance papers and the tracking numbers.
- As an artist/seller, do I have to ship the order as soon as I accept the order?
Yes. The buyer is charged as soon as you accept their order. Federal law requires you to ship the item the same day the buyer is charged or immediately thereafter.
- As an artist/seller, do I need to provide a tracking number when I ship an item?
Yes. You are required to provide the tracking number of the shipment to Discover Original Art, LLC. This is done by sending an email with the shipping information and tracking number to tracking@discoveroriginalart.com. You must do this as soon as you ship.
- As a seller, can I choose to ship only within my own country?
Yes. As a seller, you can specify that you will only ship within your own country by indicating this in the item description when you are listing the item.
- How will a potential buyer know that I will only ship within my own country?
The buyer will see this on the item listing.
